प्रश्न 1. कठपुतली को गुस्सा क्यों आया?
उत्तर: कठपुतली को गुस्सा इसलिए आया क्योंकि वह हर समय दूसरों की डोरियों से बंधी हुई थी और उनकी इच्छानुसार नाचने के लिए मजबूर थी। उसे यह अच्छा नहीं लगता था कि उसकी ज़िंदगी पर उसका खुद का कोई नियंत्रण न हो। अब वह अपनी डोर खुद संभालना चाहती थी और आत्मनिर्भर बनना चाहती थी।
प्रश्न 2. कठपुतली को अपने पाँवों पर खड़ी होने की इच्छा है, लेकिन वह क्यों नहीं खड़ी होती?
उत्तर: कठपुतली के मन में स्वतंत्र होकर अपने पाँवों पर खड़े होने की इच्छा थी, लेकिन वह ऐसा कर नहीं पाती क्योंकि उसमें हिम्मत और आत्मविश्वास की कमी थी। केवल इच्छा काफी नहीं होती, स्वतंत्रता पाने के लिए साहस और दृढ़ संकल्प की भी ज़रूरत होती है। उसे यह भी डर था कि उसके कदम से बाकी कठपुतलियों पर बुरा असर न पड़ जाए।
प्रश्न 3. पहली कठपुतली की बात दूसरी कठपुतलियों को क्यों अच्छी लगीं?
उत्तर: जब पहली कठपुतली ने अपने पैरों पर खड़े होने और आत्मनिर्भर बनने की बात कही तो बाकी कठपुतलियाँ भी उत्साहित हो गईं। उन्हें भी लगा कि वे अब तक बेवजह डोरियों से बंधकर जी रही हैं। इसलिए पहली कठपुतली की बात उन्हें प्रेरणादायक लगी और उन्होंने उसका समर्थन किया।
प्रश्न 4. पहली कठपुतली ने कहा- ‘ये धागे क्यों है मेरे पीछे-आगे? इन्हें तोड़ दो; मुझे मेरे पाँवों पर छोड़ दो।’ तो फिर वह चिंतित क्यों हुई?
उत्तर: पहली कठपुतली स्वतंत्र होना चाहती थी, लेकिन यह सोचकर चिंतित हो गई कि कहीं उसका यह कदम दूसरी कठपुतलियों के लिए परेशानी न बन जाए। उसे यह डर भी सताने लगा कि इतनी कम उम्र और कम अनुभव के कारण वह अपने फैसले को निभा पाएगी या नहीं। साथ ही, वह यह भी सोचने लगी कि स्वतंत्रता पाने के बाद उसे इसे कायम रखने के लिए क्या उपाय करने होंगे।
कविता से आगे
प्रश्न 1. ‘बहुत दिन हुए / हमें अपने मन के छंद छुए।’ इस पंक्ति का अर्थ लिखिए।
उत्तर: इस पंक्ति का मतलब है कि कठपुतलियों को बहुत समय से अपने मन की इच्छा के अनुसार जीने का मौका नहीं मिला। न तो उन्हें खुशी महसूस हुई और न ही जीवन में उमंग आई। उनकी डोर हमेशा दूसरों के हाथों में रही, इसी कारण वे दुखी और बंधन में जीने को मजबूर थीं।

प्रश्न 1. कठपुतलियाँ स्वतंत्रता के लिए कैसे लड़ी होंगी और स्वावलंबी बनने के लिए क्या प्रयत्न किए होंगे?
उत्तर: कठपुतलियाँ अपने बंधनों से आज़ाद होने के लिए एकजुट होकर खड़ी हुई होंगी। उन्होंने साहस और धैर्य के साथ अपनी डोरें तोड़ी होंगी। स्वतंत्र होने के बाद उन्होंने खुद को मजबूत बनाने और अपने फैसले खुद लेने की कोशिश की होगी। यदि किसी ने उन्हें फिर से धागों में बाँधने की कोशिश की होगी तो वे मिलकर उसका विरोध करतीं और अपनी आज़ादी को सुरक्षित रखतीं।

इस कविता में कवि ने कठपुतली के माध्यम से जीवन की गहरी सच्चाइयों को दिखाया है। कठपुतली डोरियों से बंधी होती है और जैसे ही डोरी हिलती है, वह नाचने लगती है। असल में, उसका नाचना उसके अपने बस में नहीं होता, बल्कि डोर चलाने वाले के हाथ में होता है।
इसी तरह हमारे जीवन में भी सब कुछ हमारे बस में नहीं होता। इंसान चाहे जितनी कोशिश कर ले, लेकिन कई बार हमारी डोर भी नियति और समय के हाथों में होती है। कठपुतली का नाच हमें यह एहसास दिलाता है कि जीवन नश्वर है और सब कुछ एक दिन समाप्त हो जाता है।
